Miguel Grande Ráez – Biomedical Engineer
Spanish biomedical engineer and researcher who worked at IMDEA Materials on the development of artificial skin for infants as part of the European BIOMET4D project. He was subsequently awarded a scholarship by Imperial College London to pursue a Master’s degree in Advanced Materials Science and Engineering, focusing his research on cartilage and bone.
To support his academic progress, an initiative was launched to fund his accommodation and living expenses, enabling him to dedicate himself fully to his studies.
Upon completing his Master’s degree at Imperial College London in 2025, he received a doctorate scholarship from the University of Oxford in October 2025. His PhD research, titled “Wave on a Chip”, focuses on creating implantable brain microchips designed to act as replacements for neurons damaged by Parkinson’s disease or acquired brain injury.
Our foundation has collaborated with the University of Oxford by purchasing a MOKUR:PRO system, an essential piece of equipment required for Miguel and fellow researchers to advance this pioneering work.
