Miguel Grande Ráez

Miguel Grande Ráez – Biomedical Engineer

Spanish biomedical engineer and researcher at IMDEA Materials, where he worked on the development of artificial skin for infants as part of the European BIOMET4D project. He was later awarded a scholarship by Imperial College London to pursue a one-year program in Advanced Materials Science and Engineering, focusing his research on cartilage and bone.

With the aim of supporting his academic development, an initiative was launched to cover his living and accommodation expenses, allowing him to fully dedicate himself to his training.

After completing his master’s degree at Imperial College London, he was awarded a scholarship by the University of Oxford to pursue his PhD.

His research, “Wave on a Chip,” focuses on the development of implantable brain microchips capable of reproducing brainwave activity, with the aim of alleviating or even eliminating the symptoms of conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, or acquired brain injury.

The Foundation has contributed to this project by funding key scientific equipment, donated to the University of Oxford for use by Miguel and other researchers.
